Mr. Lindelani Edwin Masindi

Mr Lindelani Masindi, who is the sole shareholder, has 16 years’ experience, primarily in the field of structural and bridge engineering. He is the sole shareholder and CEO of the company. Lindelani Masindi’s experience with his previous firm (Leporogo Specialist Engineers) extended 11 years primarily in the field of bridge inspections, contract administration and site supervision for the construction and repair of bridges. He was recently the Resident Engineer on the following major bridge construction projects :

  • Construction of five highway bridges on the N1-29 (Musina Ring Road) for SANRAL. The structures under his supervision were four interchange bridges, one river bridge, and four major culverts. The construction value of the structures was R 37.5 million.
  • Construction of a R24 million Road-over-Rail Bridge project on Lawton Road for the Polokwane Municipality. The bridge comprises 3 x 15m spans, pre-stressed pre-cast beam and slab type decks, and reinforced earth abutments and approaches.
  • Construction of a R24 million bridge construction project on road P278/1 over the Nzhelele river in the Vhembe District of Limpopo.

He was also the Resident Engineer on a bridge rehabilitation project for Roads Agency Limpopo which involved the vertical jacking of two bridge decks of a 4 span bridge over the Dwars River to enable the repairs to a settled pier at Ramokgopa in the Capricorn District of Limpopo.

Mr Lindelani Masindi has been the assistant bridge inspector on 32 bridge inspections for the RAL Bridge Management System and 43 bridges for the Vhembe Bridge Management System. He obtained his National Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Tshwane University of Technology in 2005 and is registered as a Professional Engineering Technician with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). At the end of 2018 he obtained his  B-Tech degree in Transportation Engineering at Tshwane University of Technology.

 

Mr. George Langenegger

Mr George Langenegger, a Professional Engineer, who is a Technical Director of the company, has 20 years experience, of which the majority was being part of Aurecon’s bridge design team. He has designed more than 35 bridges to date, and has also supervised major bridge construction projects. From 2014 to 2016 he was a Technical Director at Aurecon. From 2008 to 2010 he was the Resident Engineer Structures on the upgrading of the N1 (Pretoria eastern bypass) from the Brakfontein Interchange to the R21 Flying Saucer Interchange. This project was part of the Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project (GFIP). One of the bridges constructed was an incrementally launched bridge for one of the interchange’s ramps over the N1 and R21. He also has international experience being involved in the design of a 300m long bridge in Dubai. The bridge deck has a pre-stressed concrete box girder type deck with 54 m long spans. He also worked in Qatar for 5 months, reviewing bridge designs from other consultants, for the Doha express way project.

He did site supervision on three SANRAL project in South Africa. The projects were:

  • The rehabilitation of 42 bridges on the N1 between Soweto and Centurion in 2004;
  • Structures on the upgrading of the N1 (Pretoria eastern bypass) from the Brakfontein Interchange to the R21 Flying Saucer Interchange. This project was part of the Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project (GFIP). One of the bridges constructed was an incrementally launched bridge for one of the interchange’s ramps over the N1 and R21.
  • The Construction of an additional carriage way between Coega and Colchester on the N2 in the Eastern Cape, which included a major river bridge over the Sundays River.

He also has extensive experience in the concrete repair field. He was responsible for the site investigation and detailing of the rehabilitation work to be carried out on the ship berths in the harbour of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. This project entailed detailed research in the extent and type of mechanisms responsible for the rapid deterioration of the structure. Mr Langenegger’s versatility can be clearly demonstrated in his involvement in the generation of the segment catalogues for the Viaducts of the Gautrain Rapid Rail Link.

He inspected over 110 bridges in Gauteng and Northern Cape Province as part of bridge maintenance programmes.

 

Mr. Mashankutu Edwin Mokgotho

Edwin (Eddy) Mokgotho joined Indlela in September 2021, and is a registered Professional Construction Project Manager with more than 40 years’ experience. He commenced his career as a civil/structural technician specializing in reinforced concrete and steel structures. He specializes in the built environment in the project management field and co-ordination of multi-disciplinary large and small projects. He was till 31 Aug 2021 a Principal Associate and Area Manager with Royal HaskoningDHV, and gained valuable management experience through his role as Service Line Leader for the RHDHV Project Management Team in Southern Africa. He specializes in project planning, costing, quality management, construction management and contract administration, ensuring that construction projects are carried out as specified.

 

He successfully managed road projects that includes structures such as bridges and major culverts for the following clients: SANRAL, RAL, NW DoRT, City of Tshwane, since 2005.

  • 2005 – RAL: Upgrading of 29 km of gravel roads from Nw’amitwa to Molototsi, which included the rehabilitation of 4 existing bridges and the construction of a new bridge over a river.
  • 2006 – NW DoRT: Upgrading of 32 km of rural gravel roads in the Bojanala District which provide access to Anglo Platinum Mines and neighboring towns which include the construction of two bridges, one road over road bridge and the other a road over rail bridge.
  • 2009 – RAL: Reconstruction of the collapsed bridge over the Lutanandwa river on national road R524.
  • 2010 – SANRAL: Reconstruction of road R104 from Simon Vermooten to Bronkhorstspruit including the widening of 4 x bridges to accommodate the new cross section of the road.
  • 2012 – City of Tshwane: Lavender Road & Paul Kruger Street intersection upgrade including the design of a new bridge over the Appies river.
  • 2016 – RAL: Construction of a new bridge over a river on road D3753, in Majosi.
  • 2021 – SANRAL: Improvements on national road R510 from Bierspruit to Thabazimbi including the widening of 7 x bridges to accommodate the new cross section of the road.
  • 2021 – SANRAL: Detail design and construction of the Mokopane Ring Road which includes 4 x new bridges and twelve major culverts.
